Welcome to Children's Organ Transplant Association
Planned Giving

Rick Lofgren, CFRE
President & CEO

Thank you for your interest in Children's Organ Transplant Association (COTA). Our hope is to serve you and your family with helpful information.  Spring is a time for new beginnings.  As I look out my window each spring at the beautiful daffodils that sprinkle the landscape of the Children's Organ Transplant Association (COTA) office, I am reminded of the renewal of life.  Each flower reminds me of the life that is renewed when one of our patients receives a transplant ... and receives a second chance at life.

With these new beginnings, I want to share this note from a COTA mom and dad whose son received a life-saving bone marrow transplant:

"COTA means there is someone out there fighting for your family's financial needs so you can spend your time fighting for your child's health -- not worrying about money.  COTA meant we were not alone in Gregory's transplant journey ...COTA gave us hope."
Darren and Mary Ramsey, Parents of Gregory

What a joy it is when I read notes from parents who are able to enjoy miracles in their family's life -- thanks to friends, volunteers, professionals, and committed volunteers like you who allow COTA to continue developing, and offering, our families a hope for the future.  Here at COTA, your support of our work on behalf of patients in need of life-saving transplants is making a difference for hundreds of children like Gregory.  Over the past 24 years, COTA has assisted more than 1,500 patients with their transplant-related expenses.

Thank you for taking the time to explore the benefits of gift planning and for choosing to make the journey with us and with our families!  The information you requested will be mailed to the address you provided shortly, or you may contact COTA president, Rick Lofgren, at 800.366.2682 or rick@cota.org. There is no obligation for the information, and the material is personal and is not shared with anyone.

Wise Estate Planning Checklist
As years go by, we often lose track of all we accumulate along life's pathway. In some families it's a cradle or christening gown that's been handed down for generations, or an autographed baseball signed by a forgotten hero from 1964, or a faded program from the grammar school play our son or daughter performed in, or a even a can of paint used to spruce up our first home. A Tribute To A Generous Woman

A Legacy for All Time
Born in Berkeley, California, Janice Cardwell Stafford has lived a long life that can only be described as full. She loves to write and travel - even two major hip surgeries, she remained very active until she suffered a stroke in 2004, which left her unable to speak. More on A Legacy for All Time >>.
